The Christian-Muslim Youth Forum on Climate Change...

The Christian-Muslim Youth Forum on Climate Change (CMYF) provided a unique opportunity for young people of faith to call for what they want to see in the UNFCCC Agreement drafted in Copenhagen in December 2009.

The CMYF began as an online forum where young people posted their comments on the four key issues being discussed at the UN Summit in Copenhagen - how we should act to Mitigate climate change, Adapt to climate change, Technology Transfer and issues surrounding the Funding of these strategies.

Then on the 15 October 2009, 30 young Christians and Muslims came together at Lambeth Palace to develop the Christian-Muslim Youth Statement on Climate Change which was handed over to the Under-Secretary of State for the Department of Energy & Climate Change, David Kidney MP prior to the Copenhagen Summit.

The event at Lambeth Palace was chaired by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Speakers and facilitators included Mark Dowd (Operation Noah), Sheikh Ibrahim Mogra (Muslim Council of Britain), Asad Rehman (Friends of the Earth), Dawud Price (Islamic Foundation for Ecology and Environmental Sciences) Stephanie Ward (WasteWatch) and Elliot Whittington (Christian Aid).

Thank you for the huge response and interest! Please continue to use the resources and links on this website to learn about climate change and the Copenhagen Summit.
